Bishop Curtis D. Sweet is the Founder and Pastor of Higher Heights Ministries International, Inc. He and his wife, Pastor Rhonda A. Sweet founded this ministry in 1993. However, they have been in ministry over 30 years together; shortly after they married in 1981, they began the journey to fulfill the will of God.
Bishop Sweet received his clarion call to the ministry at the age of 27, under the leadership of the late Bishop Felton King. He faithfully served his Pastor, Bishop King, in the structured organization of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. for over ten years before launching his own church. He received an official certificate of evangelism from Manhattan Bible Institute in 2003; and he was honored to be consecrated as a Bishop in 2011 by an influential ecclesiastical presidium of Bishops. In 2019, he received his Doctoral of Divinity from St. Thomas Christian University.
The many years of front-line ministry has developed and strengthened Bishop Sweet’s spiritual muscles; and through this process of maturation, God has raised up an anointed man that unapologetically proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ. This vessel of God has been chosen to mend the broken hearted; anointed to father the fatherless; appointed to train the unlearned; and commissioned to encourage the Body of Christ.
Desiring to enhance the urban communities in the Phoenix Metro and surrounding areas, Bishop Sweet and his wife have founded and implemented several training and mentorship programs for men, women, youth and couples.
In addition to these programs, they founded Higher Heights Ministry Academy, which is an 8-semester faith-based ministry curriculum starting from a minister in training, matriculating to an ordained Elder. Bishop Sweet is also the founder and presiding prelate of the, “The Kingdom Lifenet”, which is a body of churches that share the same focus and common goals for their communities; and join forces to support each other in their endeavors to enhance neighborhoods and build the Kingdom of God by adding souls to the body of Christ.
Bishop Curtis D. Sweet has worshipped and served in many capacities in the church and community for numerous years. He has served on the faith-based initiative council; he has served on the advisory council to Governor Janet Napolitano and is presently a member of the Afro American Christian Coalition. He is the founder and Director of the Higher Heights Ministry Academy and developer of the Accelerated Leaders Institute Series.
Bishop Curtis and Pastor Rhonda Sweet are endeavoring to train and develop an army of leaders that will embrace vision and birth powerful expansion ministries, which will save many people alive for the Kingdom of God.
Bishop Sweet’s proudest accomplishments stem from his personal life. He and his wife, Rhonda, have been married for 38 years. They have two sons, Demond and Desmond. Demond is married to Andria, and they have a son Candin. Desmond is married to Shalmeka, and they have a daughter, Hattie. He realizes that he could not have made any accomplishments without God and his late beloved parents, Jesse and Emma Sweet.

Pastor Rhonda A. Sweet, along with her husband, Bishop Curtis D. Sweet, founded and currently shepherd the Higher Heights Ministries International, Inc. church.
The zealous couple founded this ministry in 1993. However, they have been in ministry over 30 years together; shortly after they married in 1981, they began the journey to fulfill the will of God.
Pastor Sweet received her clarion call to the ministry at the age of 20, under the leadership of the late Bishop Felton King. She faithfully served her Pastor and father, Bishop King, in the structured organization of the Church of God in Christ, Inc. for over ten years before launching out into establishing a ministry with her husband.
She received an official certificate of evangelism from Manhattan Bible Institute in 2003; she has a bachelor’s degree in education; and she is a certified life and ministry coach.The many years of front-line ministry has developed and strengthened Pastor Sweet’s spiritual muscles; and through this process of maturation, God has raised up an anointed woman that unapologetically proclaims the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
This vessel of God has been chosen to mend the broken hearted; anointed to mother the motherless; appointed to train the unlearned; and commissioned to encourage the Body of Christ. Desiring to enhance the urban communities in the Phoenix Metro and surrounding areas, Pastor Sweet and her husband have founded and implemented several training and mentorship programs for men, women, youth and couples.
In addition to these programs, they founded Higher Heights Ministry Academy, which is an 8-semester faith-based ministry curriculum starting from a minister in training, matriculating to an ordained Elder. The Sweets are in the process of seeking accreditation for this academy. The Sweet’s established the, “The Oil of Joy United Fellowship”, which is a body of churches that share the same focus and common goals for their communities; and join forces to support each other in their endeavors to enhance neighborhoods and build the Kingdom of God by adding souls to the body of Christ. This fellowship will soon be transitioning to a new name and mantra, “Kingdom Developers”.
Pastor Sweet has worshipped and served in many capacities in the church and community for numerous years. She has hosted numerous retreats for women, teenage and young girls; teaching, training and imparting Godly statutes and life skills for them to succeed in their endeavors. She has proclaimed the Gospel on various platforms small and large; she has orchestrated musical forums on several different levels to reach the masses; and she is the creator of a Social Media Ministry on Facebook, “Sweet Talk”, which has a following of over 2,000 members.

She and her husband, Curtis, have been married for 37 years. They have two sons Demond and Desmond, two daughters in love Andria & Shalmeka, and two grandchildren Candin and Hattie. She realizes that she could not have made any accomplishments without God and her late beloved parents, Felton and Lorene King.
